Experience of using the "Fitbit" Device

I have to confess that fitness/ calorie counting is not really something I keep in mind constantly although I do know that health is wealth. I am a little fitness phobic to a certain extent and always thought that as long as everything is done in moderation, plus a good amount of walking around doing what I love will address my fitness requirements.

Well, all that ideology came to the test when I was issued a Fitbit (www.fitbit.com) as part of a work thing. Overnight, I am logging steps, food and water intake. To be frank, I treated it quite poorly initially by swinging the thing around to generate my "steps" (Man, it was funny when my work people glared at me doing that and shaking their heads at my antics).....

But my curiosity was piqued when I realized that I could track my sleep and calorie intake using an iPhone App installed. Basically, I log in the food and calorie intake and the total amount gets automatically totaled for that day. Same thing for the water intake. The one thing that caused me to look the Fitbit more seriously is the sleep pattern tracking.....looks quite accurate and interesting......

I have since discovered that besides the usual fast food, hot dogs are not a good food choice for calorie counters and diet coke is perfectly fine from calorie perspective (even though I hardly take it). Combined with the Health Promotion Board's app covering more Asian/ local food, the app has so far kept me intrigued.....at the end I just got to see how long this interest lasts *winks*
